The South Sound Sierra Club Group serves approximately 1,500 members and supporters in Thurston, Mason, Lewis and Grays Harbor counties. Citizens Climate Lobby, Olympia Chapter is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. In order to generate the political will necessary for passage of our Carbon Fee and Dividend proposal we train and support volunteers to engage elected officials, the media and the public. The Olympia chapter meets the 2nd Saturday of the month, 9:30-11:30 am, at the Olympia Center.

South Puget Sound Environmental Education Clearinghouse (SPEECH) publishes South Sound Green Pages, a web-based, one-stop source of information, ideas and dialogue regarding sustainable living in the Pacific Northwest. SPEECH also hosts community events and panel discussions, as well as Envirotalk, an on-line forum for sharing news, promoting events and discussing pressing topics related to preserving, protecting and restoring the South Puget Sound environment.

Washington Environmental Council is a nonprofit, statewide advocacy organization that has been driving positive change to solve Washington’s most critical environmental challenges since 1967. WEC’s mission is to protect, restore, and sustain Washington’s environment for all.

The Olympia Chapter of the Fellowship of Reconciliation works for a nonviolent world, a healthy environment, social justice, economic justice, and peace. We bring together people of diverse ages, races, and faiths who are committed to active nonviolence as a transformative way of life and as a means of profound social change. We model these principles by personal example. We collaborate and dialogue with the larger community for mutual education and to engage in nonviolent and compassionate actions.

Sustainable South Sound’s work helps hold the vision about what a sustainable community can look like. Our Buy Local Program serves to strengthen our local economy by keeping money circulating in our local economy. Our Local Food Systems Program provides everyone with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and experience of growing food in their own front and backyards. Our research for the Indicator Project is used by city planners and policy makers to help shape the development and management of our communities.
